Rising rap star Drake, spoke with MTV about the idea behind the video for his smash hit single "Best I Ever Had." Drake, who originally planned on giving the video a more serious and seductive feel in honor of his strong female following, had a change of heart after a night of recording with rap superstar Kanye West.
According to the Toronto lyricist, the overly-creative West started throwing out ideas while the two were together recording. Those ideas impressed Drake enough to have him call his manager the next day, who he shares with The Louis Vuton Don, and request 'Ye as the director. Needless to say, Mr. West accepted.
The concept for Drake's video takes on the idea of the young MC having his favorite girls as a basketball team. "You have key women in your life when you're single and doing your thing," Drake explains of the conception.
Fabolous, DJ Clue, Nicki Minaj and Trey Songz are scheduled to appear in the video that is set to premiere soon.
